Equites Park Barnsley is located immediately adjacent to junction 36 of the M1 motorway.

Newlands secured detailed planning consent for Evri’s largest European parcel sorting distribution centre of 340,000 sq ft, PC’ing in May 2022. We worked closely with Barnsley Council to secure funding (private/public) for major road infrastructure. The £25m infrastructure contract included the creation of a new bypass, as well as earthworks and all utilities. Early access was arranged in three phases to ensure Evri could operate within very tight timescales. 1,400 new full times roles are to be created. 

Newlands proactively sourced the land with Evri to deliver the unit. The land had an employment allocation and detailed planning was obtained within 16 weeks of submission.

The deal was the first funding agreement between Equites and Newlands in the newly created JV structure. The asset has been leased for 20 years, with 5 yearly rent reviews.
